This session is for those who want a little pick-me-up, or pick-me ups, throughout your day! Cult chef, restaurateur, author, curator and real food advocate Mike McEnearney will teach you how to create simple tonics using herbs and ingredients you most likely already have in your own kitchen, garden or balcony that will invigorate the body and put a spring in your step. This session will cover two tonic's including their preparation and recipe so you can make them yourself at home. Mike will also introduce his physic garden. Abundant with healing and medicinal plants, the Kitchen by Mike Physic Garden is a space dedicated to promoting wellbeing through education of the health benefits of food which, for the most part, already feature in our diets. The past decade has seen the rise in awareness of good health as balanced eating is quickly replacing the notion of the fad diet. Kitchen by Mike has always focused on fresh, seasonal food and in doing so has unconsciously endorsed and promoted healthy eating – preparing meals with produce that is local and with as little done to the ingredients as possible is paramount. The Physic Garden parallels our kitchen ethos of “less is more” and endeavors to promote food in its purest form as nature’s medicine.
