Description

Gardening doesn't have to cost much money! In this beginners' workshop we'll show you how to have a healthy, productive garden on a shoestring. This workshop is suited to those getting started with edible gardening. Learn how to grow healthy, fresh produce on a budget. Learn to make your own compost, raise your own seedlings, shop in the waste stream and share with your community. Please also join us if you rent or don't have much garden space, as we'll also cover simple ways to work with what you've got. About your presenters: Indi and Phoebe from Patch of Plenty are friends and passionate food growers with experience in home and market garden contexts, and with a deep interest in permaculture design. They have backgrounds in horticulture, conservation biology and community organising. Patch of Plenty aims to help more people become responsible for gardens that produce food, are ecosystem-centric and are resilient in a changing climate. Their work is guided by the permaculture ethics of earth care, people care and fair share. Location, venue & access: This workshop will be held at QT Hub, a new community space and community garden in Queenstown, 5 minutes from Port Adelaide. QT Hub is wheelchair accessible. We are excited to introduce you to this cool new neighbourhood node.
