• What seeds will I receive?
We'll send you three varieties of heirloom seeds: mizuna, radish and chives. This seed combination has been specifically chosen to be grown together so you can make a Pasta Primavera meal from your patch at the end of the growing season!
As part of your free subscription, you also receive a three-month access pass to our Member Dashboard, where you can watch instructional videos and how-to-grow content to support your grow-along journey.
• When will my seeds arrive?
Our spring Seed Service packages will be distributed from Friday, November 10, 2023. So, depending on where you live in Australia, you should receive your seeds a week or so after that.
• Why is this free? Is there a catch?
Here at Grow It Local, we’re on a mission to get more Aussies growing their own food — because it’s healthier for people and our planet! Twice a year, we partner with a network of forward-thinking Australian councils, who provide sponsorship so we can offer a seasonal grow-along adventure free to eligible residents (while supplies last).
There are no hidden costs or fees to pay. You can thank your local council for being so proactive in helping to get more people growing!
• My council name doesn’t appear in the list of participating councils, what can I do?
Please email us at hello@growitlocal.com if you'd like to see the free council-supported Grow It Local Seed Service in your community. Simply let us know why and the name of your local council, and we will pass your feedback on!
You can also join our national grow-along by purchasing your own Grow It Local Seed Service subscription at www.growitlocal.com/seed-service. All funds go to helping Grow It Local realise our mission of educating, inspiring and supporting more people to grow, share and eat locally grown foods.
• Are the seeds suitable for my climate?
Yes! Master gardener Paul West (River Cottage Australia and Grow It Local Co-Founder) has personally curated this seed selection, choosing heirloom varieties that are suitable for growing in all Australian climates this spring.
• Are the seeds organic and Australian grown?
Yes, we are working with an Australian seed supplier to provide open-pollinated, heirloom and organic seeds.
• Can you post seeds to me in Western Australia or Tasmania?
Yes, Seed Service packages can be delivered to both WA and TAS. Let’s grow together!
